Born in 1963 and raised in Kano after schooling in Lagos, is a Nigerian artist. He completed his major in painting at Yaba College of Technology and is also a certified art teacher.
Currently, Hamid is exploring a unique concept he refers to as “handscape,” focusing on hands in his artistic experimentation. His talent and dedication have earned him recognition, with several awards to his name, and he has held four solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions both within Nigeria and abroad. Hamid’s artworks are highly sought after by art collectors.
Moreover, Hamid Ibrahim is a prominent figure in the Nigerian art scene, being a founding member of the Guild of Professional Fine Artists of Nigeria (G.F.A) and formerly serving as the vice president of the Society of Nigeria Artists (S.N.A). His contributions have been significant in promoting and advancing the field of fine arts in Nigeria.
