Ben Osaghae, born in June 1962 in Benin, Edo State, is an accomplished artist who graduated with a specialization in painting from Auchi Polytechnic, Edo in 1986. After completing his education, he returned to teach painting, drawing, and art history at his alma mater from 1991 to 1995. Later, he settled in Lagos, where he dedicated over two decades to practicing his art in his studio.

His approach differs from naturalistic styles, as he aims for his works to be descriptive rather than realistic. His artistic focus revolves around exploring social, political, and economic issues prevalent in Nigeria.
