Yomi Momoh

Yomi Momoh born on September 8, 1964, Yomi Momoh, a talented artist, honed his skills at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art with a focus on sculpture. Despite acclaim as the best sculptor among peers, he primarily practices as a painter.

Momoh’s artwork, known for its beautiful rendering and compositional simplicity, skilfully uses hard, curved, and fine lines to outline graceful, elongated human-like forms. His direct engagement with the canvas creates distorted yet elegant figures, blurring the line between drawing and painting. His distinctive style features feminine characters, reclining or seated figures, and those with square torsos.

Recognised both in Nigeria and internationally, Momoh’ s impressive works have been showcased widely. Currently based in Lagos, he continues to create captivating art that resonates with audiences globally.
