Kofi Awuyah, born in Accra in 1988, is a multi-talented Ghanaian artist proficient in various mediums like painting, sculpture, and installation. His artistic exploration delves into a diverse range of themes, encompassing culture, religion, politics, human existence, and mortality. With a primary focus on acrylic, oil, and charcoal on canvas, Kofi’s artistry exhibits a profound engagement with his socio-political surroundings.
Despite initially enrolling in Business School after high school, Kofi’s passion for painting led him to make a life-altering decision. He chose to pursue Fine Arts at the Vision Art College, fully dedicating himself to his artistic career. Through his art, Kofi fearlessly confronts challenging subjects, shedding light on his community’s history of oppression. His artistic journey has taken him to exhibit his works in countries like Burkina Faso, Togo, Ivory Coast, and Denmark, with his first solo show hosted by Gallery 1957.
